Spice Ambassadors recruited!
A group of selected students from Victoria Park Primary Academy are going to be helping the Ballot Street Spice Team unearth spice stories from across Smethwick.
The Spice Ambassadors will be working together to research and investigate how spices have been used in Smethwick. With help from a Heritage Lottery fund grant, the ambassadors will work on a creative project to create a Spice Heritage album, which will be published and distributed across the area. A spice map of Smethwick will be produced to illustrate how spice is used in different locations and teach us about the link between spice and people. Staff from Shireland College, will be training the group on how to use digital technology in order to collect spice stories from the community, so watch this space for more developments!
In addition, they will also have a very important role to play in all things Ballot Street Spice, making important decisions on spice blends, writing articles and helping us shape the company.
We are very excited to have the Spice Ambassadors as part of our team and we look forward to working with you.
