Ballot Street Bazaar – Bringing Communities Together!
Ballot Street Spice, in collaboration with Victoria Park Academy, hosted the first of four special community engagement bazaars.
Parents, children and staff from the school and various outside agencies came together to talk about aspects of health and wellbeing. Attendees were treated to a wealth of information and expertise from varied agencies: Sandwell Healthy Lifestyle Services – My Time Active, School Health Nurse, West Bromwich Albion Foundation Coaches and Wakey Shakey Fitness Instructor.
Children from Victoria Park Academy represented the Spice and Health Ambassadors serving and selling Chai tea with home made cinnamon biscuits and the Ballot Street Spice new Cocoa blend spicy hot chocolate mix. Year 6 children presented their Dragons Den pitch promoting their Top Trump spice games which were made to complete their NICER Challenge at the end of the Autumn term. Raffle tickets were on sale at 50p each where parents won: ASDA Gift Cards, a 3-in-1 Blender and a selection pack of Ballot Street Spice goodies!
After an extremely successful morning, staff, children and senior leaders would like to thank all those who attended the school’s community event and extend a very warm invitation to parents and visitors, to attend the forthcoming series of lottery funded community Ballot Street Bazaar events – the next one being, Wednesday 5th April – We look forward to seeing you there!
